Hi all -- I hate to say it, but this site IS under construction! I hope to have it mostly up by the end of the summer, 2008. My last site, web.mit.edu/cjoye/www (will be / has been) deactivated in the fall, 2008! I also still have a very old one at ee.vill.edu/~cdanjo/ .
By way of introduction, though, I finally finished my PhD in Electrical Engineering at MIT in August, 2008. It took 6 years to get through the Masters and PhD programs, but I'm glad I did. I work on a 140 GHz gyro-traveling wave amplifier.
In my spare time, which is asymptotically approaching zero, I enjoy photography, playing piano and organ. I am an avid inventor with 10 times more ideas than I have time or ability to carry out. I hope to operate a lab someday where people like me can go crazy and build whatever we feel like on any given day. Right now, I'd like to build a spectrometer so I can identify impurities in my Collection of Elements, my drinking water, and my food! And a high-sensitivity scintillator to hunt for radioactive ores for the collection. I've always been into electric cars and I'm glad car companies are finally taking notice. I'm also eager to try out some energy-saving/energy harvesting ideas.
My wife, Heidi (Korean name: Hyun-Young, 현영), and I have been happily married since July 9, 2005 (yes, that was our wedding date, not the first day we suddenly became happy). Together, we've been to Korea (2007, 2006), Japan (2007), Bratislava, Prague and Vienna (2007), the Philippines (2007), Mexico (2008) and about a dozen US states.
